Our ultrasound machine reads the different densities of tissues. It cannot see through air, solid material (such as bone), or faecal matter.
Reproductive ultrasounding has been a breakthrough in early pregnancy diagnosis and evaluation of reproductive performance. It's the only possible way to detect twins early on in the pregnancy, which is when we are able to squeeze one (this ideal period is 16 to 17 days from the stallion service date, or 15 to 16 days from an ovulation prediction by the vet).
